ક્ષીરાલાભવશેન ખિન્નમનસે ઘોરં તપઃ કુર્વતે
કારુણ્યાદુપમન્યવે નિરવધિં ક્ષીરામ્બુધિં દત્તવાન્
આર્ત્તત્રાણપરાયણઃ સ ભગવાન્ ગઙ્ગાધરો મે ગતિઃ ૨
મૃત્યું વક્ષસિ તાડયન્ નિજપદધ્યાનૈકભક્તં મુનિં
માર્કણ્ડેયમપાલયત્ કરુણયા લિઙ્ગાદ્વિનિર્ગત્ય યઃ
નેત્રામ્ભોજસમર્પણેન હરયેઽભીષ્ટં રથાઙ્ગં દદૌ
આર્ત્તત્રાણપરાયણઃ સ ભગવાન્ ગઙ્ગાધરો મે ગતિઃ ૩
ઊઢં દ્રોણજયદ્રથાદિરથિકૈઃ સૈન્યં મહત્ કૌરવં
દૃષ્ટ્વા કૃષ્ણસહાયવન્તમપિ તં ભીતં પ્રપન્નાર્ત્તિહા
પાર્થં રક્ષિતવાન્ અમોઘવિષયં દિવ્યાસ્ત્રમુદ્ઘોષયન્

બાલં શૈવકુલોદ્ભવં પરિહસત્સ્વજ્ઞાતિપક્ષાકુલં

રક્ષન્ યઃ કૃપયા સમસ્તવિબુધાન્ જિત્વા પુરારીન્ ક્ષણાત્
આર્ત્તત્રાણપરાયણઃ સ ભગવાન્ ગઙ્ગાધરો મે ગતિઃ ૬
શ્રૌતસ્માર્ત્તપથે પરાઙ્મુખમપિ પ્રોદ્યન્મહાપાતકં
વિશ્વાતીતમપત્યમેવ ગતિરિત્યાલાપયન્તં સકૃત્
રક્ષન્ યઃ કરુણાપયોનિધિરિતિ પ્રાપ્તપ્રસિદ્ધિઃ પુરા
હ્યાર્ત્તત્રાણપરાયણઃ સ ભગવાન્ ગઙ્ગાધરો મે ગતિઃ ૭
ગાઙ્ગં વેગમવાપ્ય માન્યવિબુધૈઃ સોઢું પુરા યાચિતો
દૃષ્ટ્વા ભક્તભગીરથેન વિનતો રુદ્રો જટામણ્ડલે
કારુણ્યાદવનીતલે સુરનદીમાપૂરયત્ પાવનીમ્
આર્ત્તત્રાણપરાયણઃ સ ભગવાન્ ગઙ્ગાધરો મે ગતિઃ ૮
ઇતિ આર્ત્તત્રાણસ્તોત્રમ્ સમ્પૂર્ણમ્
This stotra glorifies the leelas of lord Shiva, protecting his
afflicted devotees, in such a way lines pregnant with some stories.
It has many stories ie. Shiva took poison to protect the world,
giving milk ocean to Upamanyu, protecting Markandeya,
giving the disk weapon to Vishnu who dedicated his lotus eyes and so on.
