- ଏତାଵତ୍ ଗୀଯତେ କଥ୍ଯତେ -
Though this is said to contain 10 verses, it has three more in some
recensions, and they too are included in the end (11-13).
The metre used for these verses is
called ଅଶ୍ଵ ଧାଟି the cadence of hooves of horses, meaning that Mother
Nature's gait is not slow placed, nor hurrying, but rythmic and rational. So
the chanters are requested to know each word, hence they are painfully
cleaved, blend it with the other and then rythmically chant. Then only you can

ଵିତତ ଦୀକ୍ଷା = seriously involved
ଦନୁଜ-ଶିକ୍ଷା-ଵିଧୌ = in keeping our demoniac tendencies under check
ମନୋହର ଗୁଣା = has charming qualities
ଵୀକ୍ଷା ଵିନୋଦ ମୁଖ = whose face betrays her immense amusement in watching
ଭିକ୍ଷା ଅଶିନଃ ନଟନ = the dance of the alms-eater, Siva
ଦକ୍ଷା ଵୀକ୍ଷାମ୍ ଵିଧେହି ମଯି = May the intelligent one shower her
look on me
ସ୍ଵକୀଯ-ଜନ-ପକ୍ଷା = she who is on the side of those who consider
themselves to belong to her
ଵିପକ୍ଷ ଵିମୁଖୀ = and indifferent to those who pit themselves against
her
ନିରାକ୍ଷେପ ଶକ୍ତି = unchallenged power
ଯକ୍ଷେଶ ସେଵିତ = served by kubera, the king of yakShas, and lord of
wealth
ଜଯ ଲକ୍ଷ୍ଯ ଅଵଧାନ କଲନା = who brings about attainment and
retention of one's cherished objectives
ଵଂଦାରୁ ଲୋକ ଵର ସଂଧାଯିନୀ ଵିମଲ କୁଂଦାଵଦାତ ରଦନା

କୋଲା ହଲ କ୍ଷପିତ କାଲା ଅମରୀ କୁଶଲ କୀଲାଲ ପୋଷଣ ରତା ।
ସ୍ଥୂଲା କୁଚେ ଜଲଦ ନୀଲା କଚେ କଲିତ ଲୀଲା କଦଂବ ଵିପିନେ
ଶୂଲାଯୁଧ ପ୍ରଣତି ଶୀଲା ଵିଭାତୁ ହୃଦି ଶୈଲାଧିରାଜ-ତନଯା ॥ ୧୨
ଇଂଧାନ କୀର ମଣିବଂଧା ଭଵେ ହୃଦଯ-ବଂଧାଵତୀଵ ରସିକା
ସଂଧାଵତୀ ଭୁଵନ ସଂଧାରଣେଽପ୍ଯମୃତ ସିଂଧାଵୁଦାର ନିଲଯା ।
ଗଂଧାନୁଭାଵ ମୁହୁରଂଧାଲି ପୀତ କଚ ବଂଧା ସମର୍ପଯତୁ ମେ
ଶମ୍ ଧାମ ଭାନୁମପି ରୁଂଧାନମାଶୁ ପଦ ସଂଧାନମପ୍ଯନୁଗତା ॥ ୧୩
- ଏତାଵତ୍ ଗୀଯତେ କଥ୍ଯତେ -
Though this is said to contain 10 verses, it has three more in some
recensions, and they too are included in the end (11-13).
The metre used for these verses is
called ଅଶ୍ଵ ଧାଟି the cadence of hooves of horses, meaning that Mother
Nature's gait is not slow placed, nor hurrying, but rythmic and rational. So
the chanters are requested to know each word, hence they are painfully
cleaved, blend it with the other and then rythmically chant. Then only you can

The verses appears to be known as kAlikA stuti or
devI praNava dashashlokI stuti.
